Complinet, a supplier of compliance and HR information and software solutions for the UK and US financial services sectors, has enhanced its benefits package by offering employees the ability to purchase a range of tax-free benefits, including home computers, bicycles and childcare vouchers.
Employees will be able to purchase the new benefits through the Perquisite platform provided by thomsons online benefits. Complinet's HR director Sheena McLullich reckons this a "logical step" which fits with the company's reward strategy of providing benefits which make employees feel good about their job.
In March 2005, Complinet asked thomsons online benefits to rebroke all of its benefits, and then to implement and communicate the firm's online employee self-service solution Perquisite.
This move boosted the take up of the pension scheme amongst employees by 20% and encouraged the majority of employees to take advantage of the private medical insurance on offer.
The verdict
Sheena McLullich, said: "Moving our benefits online ensured that all our employees were aware of all the benefits that they received and their value. Previously, promoting and keeping employees up-to-date with their benefits package required constant communication on behalf of the HR team. By implementing self-service technology we have been able to give employees control over their own benefits and the ability to get all the information they need 24/7 without the need to contact HR."
She added: "Eliminating this administration and communication burden has given us the time and confidence to enhance our existing package by giving employees the chance to buy tax-free benefits."
