About the role
An exciting in-house opportunity has arisen at Thomsons Online Benefits for a talented and ambitious Benefits Consultant who has proven experience in delivering consulting on employee compensation, benefits and/or reward on a range of clients of varying size.
Benefits consulting
• Delivery of flexible benefits consulting, benefit strategy and delivery consulting to clients
• Provide best in class corporate advice and recommendations for innovative employee rewards structure, flexible benefits scheme design and the suitability of benefits.
• Ongoing knowledge and remain abreast of legislation and regulation related to employee benefits
Key Accountabilities
Benefits consulting delivery
• Ownership of specific consulting deliverables produced in accordance with the Consulting methodology.
• Client fact finding
• Data analysis and recommendations
• Employee surveys
• Focus groups
• Support in the preparation of the business cases for benefits change.
• Prepare recommendations on detailed benefits scheme design
• Proactive management of client decision schedules/project action lists
• Presenting information and recommendations to clients
• Clear presentation/preparation of facts, options and recommendations in relation to client advice.
Quality assurance
• Ensure process is followed throughout project and provide QA of work undertaken by Associates and peers.
• Perform role in project within budget allocated and timescales agreed with the client.
• Effective liaison with the Client and project team on project deliverables and risks as appropriate to ensure timely delivery
• Develop and act as a custodian for defined areas of the consulting methodology.
Sales and marketing support
• Support for sales and marketing efforts in relation to:
• Drafting TOB technical opinion on benefits with support of Senior Consultants
• Generation of ideas for product development
• Support in client development planning on accounts where Consultant is providing advice.
• Work alongside Account Directors on the delivery of technical information for proposals and tenders.
Coaching
• Provide coaching to associate consultants
The ideal candidate
• Significant employee benefits/relevant consulting experience
• a knowledge of HR policy, processes and application
• An understanding flex and salary sacrifice etc would be particularly useful
• Proven service delivery within agreed budgets
• Good analysis skills for scheme design and risk/client financial exposure assessment
• Proven client relationship experience on a number of high profile projects
• commercially aware
• competent business writing skills and clear verbal communication
• Completed FPC exams (1 -5)
