media coverage: mod launches online pension calculator

The Ministry of Defence has launched an online pension calculator to help 200,000 armed forces personnel decide whether to move to its new pension scheme. There are currently two plans. The first, introduced in 1975, was closed to new entrants from April 2005. A new scheme was introduced and members of the old one are being given the chance to transfer.
