Project Manager

An exciting in-house opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Project Manager who has proven experience in controlling projects in a formal project environment.
The ideal candidate will have business and/or client facing experience with an aptitude for the delivery of technology based projects.
Working for the Head of Benefit Consulting, you will be directing multiple projects which include elements of technology implementation, employee communication materials and scheme consultancy. You will typically be working in cross-functional teams of 4 delivering projects for our large strategic clients from £50,000 - £200,000 in project revenue. Our clients are companies from all sectors ranging from 100-230,000 employees.
We are seeking someone who can also build on our project management methodology so relevant experience of implementing project methodologies will be helpful.
You will be conversant with the principles of controlled project environments and be able to demonstrate the use of accepted project control tools.
As a minimum you will be educated to degree level and have completed APMP foundation exam (or equivalent) and have completed (or studying for) APM Practitioner exams (or equivalent).
The successful candidate will have a hands on approach to project delivery, have excellent communication skills and be target and delivery focused.
Key Accountabilities
Project control
• Lead the project team in gathering client requirements and translates the requirements into operational plans.
• Identifies the appropriate resources to meet project needs.
• Plans and co-ordinates the team's activities.
• Manage reporting activities on project from initiation to final operational stage.
• Determine, monitor, and review all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, resources, and risk.
• Identify and recommend contingency measures in conjunction with the consultant
• Advise team members to accomplish project goals, to meet schedules, and resolve technical/operational issues.
Project communication
• Create and execute project communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among the internal team and with the client.
• Lead status review meetings among project team members and clients.
Methodology development
• Develop recommended project controls for planning and tracking projects through the integration of various project management tools.
• Develop reporting procedures for managing changes in operational plan.
• Establish appropriate metrics for measuring project success.
• Assists in the training of the project team on application of the procedures.
• Maintains awareness on emerging technologies and project management techniques to ensure continuous best practice in project management approach
