October 2004 thomson online benefits pick up two DTI Ecommerce Awards 2004 Leading employee benefits consultant's, thomsons online benefits have won both the national innovation category of “Advanced Supply Chain Integration” and were voted “E-business” of the year for the London region in the DTI backed Ecommerce Awards 2004. thomsons online benefits were rewarded with prizes totalling £10,000. The Ecommerce Awards are a joint initiative between the Department of Trade and Industry and not-for-profit group InterForum and have been designed to recognise and reward those organisations that have demonstrated excellence through the use of the Internet and other Information & Communications Technologies. Since they began in 1999, 6,000 businesses have entered the awards, with numbers growing an average 50 per cent each year.
