American jet firm faces strikes Boeing's "best and final" offer has been rejected by the Machinists' union, with the leaders of the group proposing a strike against their employers.
The company based in Seattle, Washington, offered its employees successive pay rises of five, three and three per cent over the next three years and an improved pension scheme as well as a minimum wage rise of $2.28 (£1.26).
However, the Associated Press reported that the unions were disappointed at prospects of job security, medical coverage and wages, something that the aerospace company disagrees with.
A company spokesman said: "We're extremely disappointed that the union is recommending that our employees reject what adds up to the best contract in the aerospace industry.
"We hope our employees recognise the value of this offer."
