British salaries could soon hit the internet Thousands of job reviews and salaries are about to appear online after website Glassdoor.com announced its intentions to add British wages to its database.
Established two months ago, the website currently has the details of over 50,000 employers in more than 80 countries, with reviews posted by current or former employees anonymously.
The Times noted that ten per cent of postings were not allowed, with defamatory or potentially libellous statements removed to promote constructive criticism of each company.
Speaking to the newspaper, Robert Hohman, the co-founder and chief executive of Glassdoor, said that there would be an "initial level of discomfort for chief executives", but that many saw the situation as inevitable.
He added: "People don't talk enough about how they can be more valuable. This should help them. Knowledge is power."
Mr Hohman co-owns the website with long-time friend Rich Barton, who opened travel company Expedia in 1994.
