Company launches new US dental scheme An employee benefits company in Kansas has launched Family Share Max, a feature which allows families to get more out of their dental insurance coverage.
The feature is an addition to the Lifetime of Smiles programme and means families can take out from a shared pool of dental coverage, rather than having individual maximums for each member.
James Gimarelli, vice president of dental at Assurant Employee Benefits, said: "It is no longer necessary to put off important dental work because of individual dental coverage limits."
He added that by allowing families to "prioritise the dental needs of individual family members", the scheme can improve the "timely care of dental issues" without costing too much.
According to a federal survey in the US, the average cost of dental procedures rose by 25 per cent between 1996 and 2004.
Group disability, life and voluntary products are also available through Assurant Employee Benefits.
