Travel company carries out staff survey on training schemes Travel company Thomas Cook has enlisted the help of the CQL group to conduct a survey of its staff to look at management practices and training programmes.
In a bid to improve effectiveness, around 2,700 employees from the company were asked for their views on guidance given by management and how effective training and development programmes were towards assisting their work.
Following its merger with My Travel last year, Thomas Cook is looking to make sure that it can still meet the criteria for the Investment in People standard, according to a report on Employee Benefits.
John Telfer, managing director of CQL Group, said: "If you do not offer learning and development opportunities, employees will not see a career path and [will] look elsewhere to achieve their ambitions.''
The survey was conducted electronically and the results will be used to direct management practices in the future and to asses the effectiveness of employee inductions and appraisals.
Recently the Natural History Museum in London received the Investors in People standard making it one of only a few UK museums to be accredited.
