US company introduces radical new employee benefits scheme
A company in the US has introduced a new employee benefit scheme which gives employees the chance to have every tenth work day off.

Earthbound Media Group (EMG) has revealed the scheme, which is referred to as EMG's 9/80 schedule.

Ashley Matsui director of project management at EMG, said: "Working for such an exciting company that sees the value in an employee's need for time off to recharge their batteries is new to me, but I have already seen a shift in attitude and productivity from my team."

He added that it is "beyond refreshing" to feel that the company's leadership has its employees' "best interest in mind".

The new schedule means employees work 80 hours in nine days and then are given the tenth working day off, instead of a typical 40-hour week.

EMG is a strategic marketing and technology-driven agency and its headquarters are in California. It works for corporations, brands and non-profit organisations.
