Wellbeing programme offered by media company
An online wellbeing service has been launched by IPC Media for its employees as well as relaunching its employee assistance programme (EAP).

The media company's reward manager Ashley Bestwick told Employee Benefits that while the EAP saw a three per cent usage increase in the 12 months up to the middle of 2007, it is looking to increase the figure to at least six per cent.

Mr Bestwick noted that around 80 per cent of employees who use the service are female.

"Being in the media sector, we thought the need for support may be slightly higher than in other organisations," added Mr Bestwick.

The EAP is principally a counselling service and according to the publication a communications campaign is being rolled out to encourage more male staff to enrol.

Wellbeing Works, which is the online service offered by the company, will give tailored health advice to staff.

Brand Republic recently reported that research commissioned by IPC Ignite found that 18 to 34-year-old men are a hard-to-reach group for advertisers because they tend to be non-committal, cynical about marketing and advertising.
